Laurence Overend, for the defence, said Throne missed his court date because "he had a late night on Thursday, as many young men do".
"While getting ready for court on Friday he fell asleep," said Mr Overend, "which sounds rather like my teenage son."

Thorne surrendered to court on Monday morning, after his mother told him the police had been looking for him over the weekend.
Presiding magistrate Michael Buckley adjourned sentencing for the bail act and the offence of theft until tomorrow and told Thorne: "You need to be bright eyed and bushy tailed this Friday.
"I suggest you stay in on Thursday night".
