Man dies in M5 multi-vehicle crash near Exeter in tailback caused by earlier collision
A 47-year-old man died in a multi-vehicle crash on the M5 between junctions 29 and 28 yesterday.
Four cars and an HGV were involved in a shunt-type collision at the end of a tailback caused by an earlier collision between a camper van and a saloon car which has left a woman seriously injured.

A 47-year-old man died in a fatal road collision on the M5 northbound yesterday afternoon
A Shropshire man, the driver of a black Ford Focus, sustained serious injuries and died at the scene. Formal identification has not taken place although next of kin have been informed.
Three other people, one man and two women, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

The northbound carriageway was closed and diversions were put in place.
A section of the central reservation was later removed to allow a large volume of static northbound traffic to travel back to Exeter via the southbound carriageway.
All traffic was cleared by 8.10pm but the road was not reopened around 3.30am (6 December).
Officers from the Force Serious Collisions Investigation Unit have launched an investigation into the collision and are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
