‘Exmoor Rut’ rally will raise money for hospice
THE 11th Exmoor Rut for classic cars, takes place on Sunday, September 30.
Organised by the Healey Drivers Club the event starts from the South Devon Railway’s Buckfastleigh Station and is being held in aid of Childrens’ Hospice South West. The tour will take in both Dartmoor and Exmoor passing through Moretonhampstead, South Molton (with a visit available to Quince’s Honey Farm), Exford and Porlock to Lynmouth to park free in a council controlled car park.
Also on offer is a concessionary ride up the country’s first ever cliff railway to Lynton, enabling participants to visit the Foodfest in the town hall or the craft centre alongside. On leaving Lynmouth, the route goes through the “Cleaves” via Barbrook, Lynton’s Valley of Rocks to Woody Bay, passing the resurgent Lynton & Barnstaple Railway to finish for a Devonshire cream tea at the Old Station House Inn at Blackmore Gate.
