NORTH DEVON'S Academy of Beach Sports sent more teams, 10, than any other squad for the South West Junior Grand Prix in Weston-super-Mare.

Some quality volleyball was rewarded with many wins, giving them some high points tallies to carry through to the next competition in Melksham.

Winning the girls' under-11s were Academy Unbeatables, playing together for the first time and managing to live up to their name.

North Devon took first, second and third place in the under-12 boys, with the Academy Quashers, Leapers and Crushers respectively.

All the teams put up excellent performances and played three-touch volleyball that was far superior to their rivals.

The Academy Originals fought hard to take first place in the boys under-15s.

South West Junior Grand Prix: Academy Crushers (Rachel Fallow (capt), Colby Dawes, Willow Dawes) 3rd U12 boys; Academy Unbeatables (Helen Farr (capt), Rebecca Fallow, Sophie Watts) 1st U11; Academy Quashers (Torin Begley (capt), Alex Cammack, Jordan Evans) 1st U12 boys; Academy Leapers (Dylan Hall (capt), Alfie Constable, Ellie Austin) 2nd U12 boys; Academy Prodigies (Harry Constable (capt), Matt Hartnoll) 3rd U13 boys; Academy 3Ds (Jo Wright (capt), Will Lomas, Torin Lawson) 4th U14 boys; Academy Bashers (Amelia Richards (capt), Ellen Blandford) 4th U15 girls; Academy Hammers (Sam Dunbavin (capt), Sam Roach, Liam Ward) 2nd U15 boys; Academy A Team (Billy Hinson (capt), Haydn Lawson, Callum Josselyn) 3rd U15 boys; Academy Originals (Millie Constable (capt), Will Hartnoll) 1st U14 boys.
