A MAN suffered neck injuries after a car crash near Umberleigh.

Two cars were involved in the collision which happened just before 3pm last Wednesday on the A377 at Fishleigh Rock Garage.

The driver of a silver Audi received medical treatment from ambulance staff at the scene.

The man, from Chapelton, hurt his neck and back.

The other driver, believed to be from Barnstaple, was in a green Daihatsu Fourtrack, He was unharmed.

Medics decided the Audi roof should be removed before they moved the injured man.

Fire engine crews from from South Molton and Barnstaple released the driver using hydraulic rescue equipment and small tools. He was taken to hospital by ambulance.
