Allhalland offices go to auction
TORRIDGE District Council is putting one of its Bideford offices up for sale.
The Allhalland Street offices, which the district council has owned since it was formed in 1974, were due to go up for auction at the end of August.
The housing and democratic services team, consisting of 17 people have been relocated into Bideford Town Hall and Bridge Buildings.
Andrew Waite, the council's corporate property manager said the offices, which were not open to the public, were sub-standard for staff.
He said there would be no effect at all for the residents of Torridge and the intention was to improve the service teams by giving them better locations.
The money from the sale will go to the council's capital programme and is not ring-fenced for any particular project.
