LOCAL author Peter Villiers will be getting the Appledore Book Festival winter talks underway next Tuesday.

The talk will take place at the Seagate Hotel in Appledore at 8pm and entrance will be by ticket at the door.

The entry charge will be £2.50.

Mr Villiers, from Braunton, will be giving a talk about the novelist Joseph Conrad, author of Heart of Darkness and Lord Jim.

The talk will begin at 8pm and is expected to last for approximately 50 minutes.

The talk will be supported with a power-point presentation.
