Barnstaple under-14s to play at Exeter Chiefs' Sandy Park

BARNSTAPLE under-14s will play at Exeter Chiefs' Sandy Park in the final of the Devon Plate.

Barum reached the May 5 final with a 26-15 home win over Kingsbridge, sealed by a try from Connor O'Toole who picked up the ball on the halfway line and ran through to score under the posts.

Earlier tries were scored by James Bellew, Danny Southworth and Ed May, with Tom Squire converting three.

Barnstaple finished the Devon Under-16 League regular season with a 20-10 win over Honiton.

Tries came from Nat Bayet and Barney Meadowcroft, who also kicked a penalty and a conversion.

Barum will take on Crediton in the league final on April 11.

Bideford under-15s' handling and support play was too good for Minehead as they scored eight tries for a 52-5 win.

Tries were scored by Michael Smith, Hector Kuenzler Byrt, Reece Pearn, Jake Bailey, Josh Lindo, Alex Rodgers, Tai Williams and Patrick Kendrew. Billy Cockwill kicked five conversions and Pearn one.

Barnstaple under-11s won twice, 26-0 against South Molton and 28-7 against Cheddar.

Alex Rowe, Jamie McLagan (two) and Troy Elworthy scored tries against South Molton, with McLagan adding three conversions. Rowe and Callum Morgan were the men of the match.

Reid Williams, Euan Kent, Finlay McClenaghan and McLagan were the try scorers against Cheddar, with four conversions from McLagan. Ethan Downs was man of the match.
