Barum's forwards get the job done in first half
BARNSTAPLE UNDER-12s raced into a 21-0 half-time lead at Brixham and held on to it in a scoreless second half.
The forwards performed well on a sticky pitch.
They dominated the rucks and won great ball for the backs to show their slick handling.
Spencer Merrifield opened the scoring from a blindside move and further tries came out wide from Sam Taylor and Austin White, all converted by Will Knill.
Shell-shocked Brixham were more determined in the second half but great pressure in defence kept them out.
Barnstaple Under-11s' forwards were also on top at Brixham in a 40-0 win.
After a sluggish start, the pack started making some big charges, particularly man of the match Oscar Carter-Burns, helped by excellent rucking from William Huxtable and Nathan Fouche.
The tries were scored by Blake Simpson (two), Jono Slee, Rafe Yewdall, Joel Anderson and Fouche. Danny Southworth (three) and Slee (two) kicked the conversions.
Tries by man of the match Jakob Nash and Jordan Young earned Barnstaple Under-14s a 10-0 win over Crediton, their eighth victory in a row.
In a good team performance, there were great runs and tackles by Theo Seel-Kent, Liam Ellis and James Newman.
Barum Under-13s thrashed Wellington 63-0. The try-scorers were Tom Karslake, Nat Bayet, Barney Meadowcroft, Bradley Campbell, Kipper Sluman, Zac Davie and Callum Ford, with Meadowcroft and Robbie Hume kicking conversions.
