FIVE goals from midfield made it a great weekend for Woolacombe and Mortehoe's Adam Baxter.

He scored four in the 5-2 Journal League Intermediate Two win against Chittlehampton on Saturday and was on target again against the same opponents 24 hours later.

On both occasions George Gwynn opened the scoring for the Seasiders who went second by extending their unbeaten run to 12 games.

Baxter took his tally to 16 for the season on Sunday, while Jamie Duffield's two goals completed a 4-0 win for a quick league double.

In the 'first leg', Chittle's goals came from Dave Sparkes and Daniel Strong, while goalkeeper Julian Fay made a string of saves.

They saw a promising debut in midfield from Chris Pratt.

Still holding a perfect record after 18 games, Wrey Arms went 15 points clear as the Larcombe brothers, Simon and Dan, scored two apiece against South Molton. Dave Isaac replied.

Putford slipped out of the top two, losing 1-0 at Torridgeside where player-boss Mike Gilbert hit the late winner.

One goal was enough too for Barnstaple FC against Northside Atlantic, Wayne Goldsmith settling it with a first-half effort.

A hat-trick from Craig Russell helped Hartland to their biggest win of the season, 6-2 against Landkey Town. Richard Bissett, Ben Pomeroy and Hallum Cook completed the rout.

Eddie Harvey and Lee Kerswell squeezed in shots to provide the only bright moments for the visitors.

With their blend of youth and experience, Northam Lions edged out Bradworthy 3-1 after wing-back Chris Bell smashed his first goal of the campaign. Martin Ford scored twice, including one off his shoulder, for a squad featuring five players over 40.

Well-worked goals from Ollie Wilson and Arran Cashart gave North Molton a 2-1 win over Bratton Fleming who replied with a penalty from Mark Bithell.

There was disappointment for North Molton on Sunday though as Marc Clark and an own goal gave Woolsery a 2-1 win.

Woolsery were just glad to play having travelled to Barnstaple on Saturday to face Pilton Academicals, only to find the pitch was double booked.

Manager Steve Langbridge said: "We turned up at Rock Park and there were eight teams, four referees and only three pitches."

It wasn't a totally wasted journey though as they joined the Pilton players for food at the Corner House.
