RUNNING their little hearts out, two Woolacombe girls plus friends and supporters have run the entire stretch of Woolacombe beach to Putsborough...and back!

Jordan Atreidees and Shannon McDavitt, both aged 11, organised the run — in their pyjamas — to raise funds for the Help the Heroes charity and have raised a phenomenal £909.

Mum Hayley Atreidees said: "They're chuffed to bits. And we're hoping to add another £200 to that, from a raffle. A retired policeman at the Royal saw the posters for our run and organised the raffle."

She added: "People were just brilliant on the beach, putting £5 and £10 notes into the tubs as we ran — even the dogs were exhausted at the end of it. We were joined by Jordan's brother Josh, who ran in his full Ilfracombe Army Cadet uniform, and another cadet called Cody — he was brilliant and stayed the whole day to help out."
