Bideford Half Marathon won by Tavistock AC's Jim Cole

Jim Cole, of Tavistock AC, has won the Bideford Half Marathon.

He clocked a time of 1hr 8mins 56secs this morning, beating reigning champion Shaun Antell, representing Bideford AAC, by just ten seconds.

Antell's time of 1-09-06 was more than half a minute quicker than the personal best with which he won last year's race.

Dan Alsop, of St Austell Running Club, was third in 1-10-18 and Bideford AAC's Mark Jenkin, last year's runner-up, was fourth in 1-10-59.

Helen Dyke, a former Bideford AAC member now running for Poole Runners, improved on last year's third-place finish by winning today's women's race in 1-22-04.
