BIDEFORD have reached the final of the Devon Youth Under-14 Girls Cup.

A tremendous performance at Braunton saw them defeat previously unbeaten Kingskerswell Colts 4-2.

They will meet Ashburton side Ashmoor Girls in the final on March 28.

Bideford led 2-0 at half-time thanks to goals from Chelsea Hassan and Mollie Jones.

With other chances going begging, they were wondering whether they would rue not establishing a bigger advantage.

Kingskerswell found new enthusiasm in the second half and sprung the offside trap to beat goalkeeper Natalie Hubble.

With 12 minutes remaining Kingskerswell levelled after hesitant defending at a corner ended with a shot being deflected in.

Five minutes from time, player of the match Natasha Owen put Bideford ahead again. Seizing on a loose ball on the edge of the box, she beat an opponent and struck a sweet shot into the corner.

As Kingskerswell pushed forward in search of an equaliser, Bideford hit them on the break as Sophie Parish outstripped the defence and squared for Jones to slot her second into an empty net.

Barnstaple Youth Under-11s had a successful weekend with wins in the North Devon Contractors League and Cup.

On Saturday they beat Woolsery 3-0 with two goals from Joel Randall and one from Sam White.

Then, the next day, they booked a cup final place with a 1-0 win over Bideford Blues. Randall's 20-yard, first-half strike settled it.

Ryan Corrie netted the only goal as Woolsery beat Okehampton on Sunday.

Ben Wyborn earned Combe Martin a 1-1 draw with Crediton.

There was a thrilling 3-3 draw between Holsworthy Under-12s and Woolsery. Ben Johns, Jacob Nosworthy and Stanley Furber scored for Holsworthy.

SAS Under-Nines recorded their third straight win, beating Torridgeside 2-0. Robbie Dendle and Finlay Shapland got the goals, with Harry Lynch named man of the match.

Braunton won 7-0 at Bideford Blues in the Cup. Bob Whittaker hit four, with the others from Neil Summerville, Alex Hurd and the outstanding Alfie Denham.

Bradley Williams' goal gave Braunton Under-10s a 1-0 win at Ilfracombe Town in a game that saw a wonderful performance from Braunton midfielder John Morgan.

Chulmleigh beat South Molton 6-0, with five of the goals coming in the second half. There were two each for Callum Youngman, William Hamill and Sevy Baker.

It's eight wins in nine outings for under-14s leaders North Molton who beat Ilfracombe Town 8-0. Josh Dekker had a four-goal haul and the others came from Callum Goss (two), Macauley Skinner and Lewis Kingdon. Brendan Phillips was Molton's star performer.
