Appeal for witnesses after Bideford man charged with rape
A 36-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with raping a woman in the Belvoir Road area of Bideford at the weekend, police say.
The suspect, a 36-year-old local man, was remanded in custody and was due to appear at Barnstaple Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Police are appealing for a number of potential witnesses to come forward, including: the occupants of a taxi dropped off between midnight and 1am where Belvoir Road meets Lime Grove; the occupants of a red four-door car seen in Belvoir Road area; the occupants of a vehicle with a roof box, also seen in the same area, twice.
