Black Torrie lift the cup
BLACK TORRINGTON beat Week St Mary 4-2 in a thrilling Pickard Cup final.
Dean Allin scored twice to clinch the trophy in front of more than 200 supporters at Holsworthy's Upcott Field.
Player-manager Dan Andrew said: "It was one of those games you really enjoy playing in.
"It was a good standard of football, both sides were well supported and there was a really good atmosphere.
"It was a credit to the Kingsley League."
Allin turned in a cross from Craig Milburn to open the scoring before the Saints hit back with a glancing header from 16-year-old Jake Cartwight.
John O'Donoghue restored the lead at a corner but, backed by their vocal following, the Cornish club were level again by half time.
Andrew broke clear to drill Black Torrington ahead for the third time and they were determined to hold on.
Allin added the fourth on the counter-attack.
● Holsworthy warmed up for Sunday's Sub Cup final as Darren Williams (two), Chris Haxell and Dan Hughes earned a 4-1 win at Morwenstow in the Hodgson Insurance Kingsley League.
