THE RACE for the North Devon League premier division title took another twist yesterday as leaders Bideford reserves were thrashed 6-0 by Boca Seniors. Boca played like a team with a point to prove on only their third league fixture in 18 weeks, ending the Robins' unbeaten run with a ruthless display. Scott Sharp and Matt Deakin scored twice and Jack Jenkins and Mark Barrow completed a resounding win for the champions at the Sports Ground. Darren Todd's team remain in fifth with games in hand while Bideford have slipped to second after their first league defeat for 42 games. Torridgeside are the new leaders after extending their winning run to nine consecutive games. Rob Holland hit a hat-trick and Martin Boundy got the other goal in a 4-1 triumph at Georgeham and Croyde. Torrington have gone top of the senior division thanks to a deadly display from Danny Jenkins in a 9-0 thumping of North Molton. The striker helped himself to seven goals while Matt Bryce and Arlo Reddick eased Torrie seven goals clear by half time.
