BEATING three county champions along the way, Bradley Phillips has won the South West under-10s section of the LTA Indoor Series.

Nine-year-old Bradley saw off the best Avon, Devon and Somerset had to offer before getting the gold medal.

Nine similar tournaments were held around the country. The winners will go to Leeds Carnegie University on the weekend of November 7 and 8 for the national Grand Prix.

Bradley, a pupil at Orchard Vale Community School, trains with the under-12s squad at Barnstaple's Tarka Tennis Centre under coaches Chris Gill and Georgina Loosemore.

He also travels to Taunton once a week for training with LTA coaches.
