The Braunton-based Quay Garage Racing team is to return to the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship this year.

Backing from a Midlands brewery will see Quay race under the banner Bathams Honda when the season begins at Brands Hatch on April 5.

Quay have punched above their weight in previous championships but, after running as Tyco Honda in 2011, did not compete last year.

Ian Woollacott, the team owner, told britishsuperbike.com: "We took a season out because we couldn't have done it as well as we would have wanted, but now we have undoubtedly come back with an even stronger team than we have had in the past."

Woollacott revealed Tommy Bridewell and Michael Rutter as his new rider line-up at the MCN London Motorcycle Show.

Bridewell, 24, rode for Quay in 2010 and the first five rounds of the following season.

With Supersonic BMW last year, he finished sixth in the rider championship.

Rutter, 40, brings vast experience to the team, having ridden in the British Superbike Championship since 1995, recording 28 wins and finishing second in the standings twice, in 2002 and 2004.
