“Glad to see people have to much time on there hands to tell the papers completely the wrong details. Firstly it was for about 10mins not 45mins and the vehicle wasn't broke down it just lost traction and as a sign that being a HGV driver is still a professional career where the drivers stick together another passing truck soon pulled the vehicle out the way. That road is the main torrington to Barnstaple road and the only sign is at Barnstaple end because of the first steep incline maybe car drivers should pay a bit more attention when using this road and think before they try forcing lorrys to stop in the narrows because they cant spare 2 mins to let lorrys through incidents like this wouldn't happen!”

“Sorry mate but don't believe there are any restrictions on hgvs on that road.there is an advisory sign at the roundswell roundabout directing lorries through Bideford to torrie .
So the driver had every right to be on that road!!!”

“The road is restricted to large lorries so he shouldn't have been travelling on it!”
