WEST Country Networking, a business group that meets regularly in Bideford, is hosting a cruise aboard the Oldenburg to raise money for the Children's Hospice South West.

Tickets are available to the general public and to businesses who want to enjoy the cruise on September 10.

As well as enjoying a two-hour journey along the North Devon coastline from Bideford, there will be a buffet and live music from the Dambuskers.

Organiser Elaine Isaac from Convallis Software said: "This is the second year of the event and although last year's event was a great success we are hoping to make this year even bigger and better for our chosen charity, Children's Hospice South West."

Ben Waymark, chairman of West Country Networking, said: "Our group comprises small businesses from across the area and we support each other through the network.

"This charity cruise is our way of giving something back to the community and it feels good to support Children's Hospice South West as a local charity while also supporting the Oldenburg which is also a great local institution.

"Although we are a business-based group, this event is very much about having a great night out, good food, good music and beautiful scenery.

"Tickets are available to anyone who would like a great night out to support Children's Hospice South West."

Tickets for the event are £30 per person.

There will also be a raffle on the night, while before the event sealed bids are invited for the chance to win a flight for four people from Exeter to Guernsey, with a taxi to and from Pier 17 restaurant where the winners will enjoy a meal before flying back to Exeter.

The prize has been donated by Goodridge of Exeter.

Sealed bids should be posted to Channel Islands Fly Day for the attention of Emma Puckey, head of fundraising, Little Bridge House, Redlands Road, Fremington, Barnstaple, North Devon EX31 2PZ to arrive be September 3.

The winner will be announced on the cruise.

Emma Puckey, head of fundraising at Little Bridge House said: "We are so grateful to West Country Networking for organising this event on behalf of Children's Hospice South West and encourage anyone looking for a great night out to get their tickets now — there aren't many left."
