Car found 40 foot down embankment after collision on A39

Fire fights and rescue units were called out to the A39 between Blackmoor gate and Churchtown near Parracombe on Exmoor after reports of a collision.

One Fire Fighting appliance from Lynton and one Fire fighting appliance from Combe Martin Fire Station and the special rescue unit from Middlemoor Fire Station as well as the rescue tender from Barnstaple went to the scene and found a car 40 foot down an embankment.

One male was rescued from the vehicle by crews using small tools and the line rescue crew from Barnstaple fire station. The male has been conveyed to hospital via land ambulance.
