A car and motorcycle crashed in icy conditions in Devon this morning.

The incident occurred at around 7am on the A3072 in Jacobstowe near Hatherleigh.

Police said a white Honda 650 motorcycle crashed before a Volkswagen Golf following swerved to avoid the biker and collided with scaffolding.

Nobody is thought to have been injured in the collision. The road was closed for a period of time while recovery of the vehicles took place.

Driving conditions are described as hazardous in both directions on the B3216 because of ice on the road.
