THE CATAMARANS made the best of the force four to five north-easterly winds in North Devon Yacht Club's racing over the weekend.

Seventeen boats entered the handicap race, with two laps of the Club, Skern, Inner Pulleys, Inner Home course. Catamarans took five of the top six placings.

The overall winner was a Spitfire sailed by Nick and Sue Williams. Pete Ewing was second with a great performance on the Sprint 15.

Steve Smith was third, Keith Heason fourth, Hue Kingdom fifth and Dane Stanley sixth.

Dave Warren won the previous week's Sunday Series.
