CHAMPIONS Kelsey Chiefs finished their first season in the North Devon Indoor League with a 31-point lead.

Their campaign closed with another overwhelming win, this time by 30 runs over Raleigh.

Again their batsmen combined to make a huge total, 143-5, and although Raleigh battled hard they fell well short of their target.

Bishops Nympton just clung on to second despite a collapse against Willows. They were shot out for 71 with James Corry taking 3-12 and Barney Huxtable 2-28. Huxtable enjoyed a fine a match, scoring an unbeaten 28 to nudge Willows to victory.

Filleigh finished with a run of three wins, easily overtaking North Molton's meagre total of 82 to take fourth place.

Dave Cresswell made an unbeaten 53 for Hele Bay in their 25-run win over Bratton Fleming but was outscored by Ollie Hunt (66no), the ever-improving mainstay of the Bratton team.

Newton Tracey scraped through by just one wicket for the second match in succession. The hero was Simon Gear who held firm with an unbeaten 31, clinching the win off the penultimate ball against Nomansland.
