Coeliacs share information about special requirements of their diet
THE North Devon Group Coeliac UK has more than 250 members and covers an area from Bude to Barnstaple and from Holsworthy to Tiverton.
Members get together four times a year. Meetings can include talks and cookery demonstrations, mainly from gluten-free food manufacturers.
Their annual meeting will be held on Saturday at 2.30pm at the Tomlin Hall, Bickington.
As well as the brief formalities group organiser Louise Webber will be giving a talk on the recent changes to the labelling laws and how this will affect those on a gluten free diet.
On May 8 the Group will visit the National Trust's Arlington Court for a gluten-free afternoon tea.
For further details on both events contact Louise on 01409 221466 or e-mail northdevon@coeliac.org.uk.
The following places have been recommended by members: Penhaven Country House Hotel and Restaurant, Parkham; The Arundell Arms, Lifton; The Park Hotel, Barnstaple; Puffing Billy, Torrington; Rydon Inn, Holsworthy; Village Inn, Ashwater; Mad Hatters Tea Shop, Launceston; The Exe Restaurant, East Devon College; Eggesford Garden Centre; The Chichester Arms, Bishops Tawton; Chivz, Wellington; RHS Rosemoor, Torrington; Country Cousins Restaurant, Bideford.
