Comedy farce replaces panto at West Down this year
WEST Down Amateur Productions have a change of programme for this year's show. In a break from the norm, the usual panto will be replaced by a play written by local light Carole King.
The Heart Of Art, directed by Di McGahran, is a farce that sees aspirational artist Sebastian (Simon Barker) and wife Felicity (Penny Helps) move into a quiet North Devon village with the pie-in-the-sky notion that the painter can found a new art movement with Damien Hirst. Country life, however, is not as straightforward as they naively thought.
Expect laughs galore as the delusional couple become entwined in a series of errors and cock-ups that, hopefully, won't end in disaster.
Performances run from Thursday, February 21 to Saturday, February 23, 7pm at West Down Parish Hall. Tickets: £5 from the community shop or on 01271 866396. Proceeds to West Down community projects.
