THE COMPANY behind plans for a 10-turbine wind farm in Bradworthy has performed a U-turn after they withdrew their application.

London based firm Quiet Revolution submitted plans to Torridge District Council last year for the wind farm to be built on land on Dural Farm near Holsworthy.

The machines would have been built on open farmland which is being used to graze horses. Each turbine would have reached a height of 20 metres.

Energy from the turbines would have been used by the farm. Any extra energy generated would have been exported to the National Grid.

Plans by Quiet Revolution stated initial proposals involved up to 20 turbines. However, the company decided to slash this figure to "reduce the impact of the turbines on the surrounding environment."

quietrevolution were unable to provide a comment as to why the application was withdrawn at this time.
