North Devon second XI, who had won only once in their previous six games, have not given up hope of promotion.
They returned to form with a 50-run victory over Barnstaple and Pilton second XI that was built on a knock of 70 by Joe Kelly.
Tom Stanton added 44 in the home side's 194 for six, which saw Gary Elder take four for 25.
Fergus O'Donnell caused problems for the Barnstaple batsman, taking four for 21 as they finished on 144 for nine.
John Wainwright had two wickets for 22 runs, while Mike Paine made 25 and James Rowe 20.
Adam Payne's unbeaten half century eased Bratton Fleming to an eight-wicket home win over Shebbear in the second division.
He struck 53, teaming up with Graham Barrow (26no) to help the team pass Shebbear's 108 all out. Jeremy Brock top scored in that effort with 20 not out. Pete Simmonds and James Thomas took three wickets each.
Bratton, second from bottom, have completed their matches and need Barnstaple and Pilton to slip up in their final two fixtures if they are to escape relegation.
Newton Tracey second XI lost for the first time since May 30.
But the six points they picked up at Belstone were enough to ensure they have won the fourth division title with one match to play.
They might have expected to reach their goal with a win, having bowled Belstone out for 107, with Andy Chatham taking three for nine.
But with Chatham (12) and Hedley Toogood (29) the only batsmen to reach double figures, Newton Tracey were shot out for 84 to lose by 23 runs.
North Molton's promotion hopes will end if they lose to the champions on Sunday, handing Halberton the second promotion spot.
The Mid Devon side were four-wicket winners at Victoria Park second XI, having bowled them out for 108.
Dave Proctor (83) and Ali Rodway (51) hit half centuries in Lynton and Lynmouth seconds' 219 for nine against Ilfracombe.
The division's bottom side were then bowled out for 82 to lose by 137 runs. Stephen Lake took three for 20 and Nick Constable three for 18.
Kelseymen moved further away from the relegation zone with a one-wicket win over Bratton Fleming second XI on Monday.
Andy Paddison bowled seven maidens in his nine overs, taking two for 11 in Bratton's 112 all out. Ted Cummings top scored with 44.
The ninth Kelseymen wicket fell with the scores tied, but Gary Gomez struck the winning run.
Murray Sharpe took four for ten for Bratton.
For the fifth time this season, Bishops Nympton lost a fifth division match by more than 100 runs.
This time the margin was 150 runs at Heathcoat second XI who are locked in a three-way promotion battle with North Devon third XI and Petrockstowe.
In Heathcoat's 241, Jim Cridland missed out on a century when he was caught behind for 97. But that was six more runs than the entire Nympton team managed.
The weekend's only scheduled first division game, between Filleigh and Heathcoat, was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
Bradninch have informed the league they will be unable to fulfil two of their fixtures.
The Mid Devon club has nine outstanding matches as a result of successful runs in Twenty20 and county cup competitions.
