Dad faces a court trial
A FATHER accused of refusing to take medical advice on his son's treatment is being prosecuted.
Clive Alfred Charles Webster, 30, from High Street, Ilfracombe, appeared before North Devon magistrates last week.
He pleaded not guilty to assault, ill-treatment or neglecting a child or young person.
Webster will now face a jury trial at Exeter Crown Court.
Defence solicitor Tim Hook told the court: "The allegations of neglect are based around a disagreement with the health service — and not that he did anything to his son."
Webster also faces a separate public order charge of behaviour causing fear of unlawful violence, which will also go to crown court on the same day.
He was realised on bail on the condition he did not oppose or prevent any access to his son to social services.
