Dangle off a cliff to raise money for hospice
NORTH Devon Hospice is seeking daredevil fundraisers to take part in a charity abseil off Hartland Cliffs.
The annual Great Devon Dangle gives people the chance to abseil down either 80ft or 180ft of sheer rock face.
Stuart Snape, from Woolsery, has previously taken part in the dangle after receiving care and support from the North Devon Hospice between 2004 and 2006 when he was battling with a brain tumour.
After overcoming the illness he took part in the event to prove he was capable of taking on an extreme challenge.
He said: "It was an amazing experience and I was really proud of myself.
"I would encourage anyone to have a go at the Great Devon Dangle.
"You are in the safest of hands and it is also raising money for a wonderful charity who help families, like mine, every single day."
Previous participants have aged from 16 to the late 70s.
The Great Devon Dangle will take place on Sunday, September 12, with an expert team from Skern Lodge.
