AN author who gained inspiration to become a writer at Bideford Library has launched her debut novel.

Belinda Bauer, who grew up in Bideford but now lives in Cardiff, is set to feature on Channel 4's More4 TV Book Club ahead of a return visit to the Little White Town.

Her debut book, a thriller called Blacklands, is set on Exmoor and involves a serial killer.

Filming of Belinda took place in North Devon and she will feature on the TV Book Club show on January 24 at 7.30pm on More4 and January 25 at 12.05pm on Channel 4.

She will be giving a talk on Blacklands at Bideford Library on February 11 at 7pm. Tickets are free.
