I WOULD like to congratulate Exeter City Council in arranging that the increase in my pension almost exactly equals the amount of increase in its council tax demand.

I note that, again, that the city council demands almost twice my pension increase.

I see also that Devon and Cornwall Constabulary, whose enforcement of certain aspects of the law are lamentably non-existent, is only getting, as in past years, nearly twice my pension increase.

The hero of the piece is Devon County Council which only gets an extra two per cent.

Unitary for the city? No thank you.
