Detectives say Catherine Nee murder appeal in Ilfracombe was a success
DETECTIVES investigating the possible murder of a former Ilfracombe resident say a recent witness appeal in the town has been very successful.
Last month four officers from the Thames Valley Police major crime unit visited Ilfracombe as part of an investigation into the disappearance of Catherine Nee, who was last seen in the town in 2002.
Catherine, who is originally from Reading, was 31 when she was last seen but would now be aged 43.
Although police say they are still treating Catherine as a missing person, a 47-year-old man from the Thames Valley area was arrested on suspicion of her murder.

The team of officers spent three days in Ilfracombe handing out leaflets and posters and speaking to people who remembered Catherine.
Detective Jo Waites of the Thames Valley Police major crimes unit said: "It was a success but we still need to speak to more people who knew her.
"It's quite difficult because she was only in the town for a couple of years 11 years ago but although some people might not instantly remember her, they might if they wracked their brains.
"We are keeping our minds open and would love to hear from anyone who remembers Catherine or perhaps her dog, Prince."
