'Dreadful' Combe take the points
ILFRACOMBE survived a scare against Tribute Devon Two's bottom team.
Plympton Victoria were on course for their first win of the season as they led 9-0 in the final ten minutes.
But Ilfracombe dug deep to turn the game around with two converted tries for a 14-9 win.
Marc Couzens kicked Plympton ahead with three penalties.
But in the closing stages Ilfracombe strung some phases together for the first time and Jay O'Beirne was at the front of a queue on the overlap.
Then a scrum was shoved to the line and scrum half Ben Offield scampered in under the posts.
Both tries were converted by Dan Brierley.
Leo Cooper, the Ilfracombe captain, said: "It was a pretty dreadful performance.
"There is no way we will perform like that twice in a row. Tamar Saracens can expect a big reaction from us on Saturday."
