THE Elmfield Hotel in Ilfracombe sets off the New Year with a delectable supper club in its Dining Room restaurant next month.

The Supper Club will be a monthly event combining an evening of gourmet, seasonal fine dining with a selection of exquisite pairing wines, showcasing the best of West Country produce from the smallest cottage industry producer to internationally renowned farms.

David 'Fitz' Fitzgerald, veteran TV broadcaster and BBC Devon Radio's voice of Saturday mornings, will be the guest speaker at the first event.

Each month there will be a guest speaker who will aim to inspire great conversation and debate.

The Supper Club will take place on the last Wednesday of the month. Guests will include respected food producers and business gurus as well as those with inspiring or entertaining lives, to share their wit, wisdom and trade secrets.

Members of The Elmfield Supper Club will receive guest speaker updates, news of new products, discounts and offers on some of the West Country's finest foods and wines.

The Elmfield Dining room is a spacious and bright restaurant with views over the Wilder Valley.

The kitchen is led by head chef, Tom Frost, a creative and progressive modern English chef who is also trained in classic French and modern European cuisine.

Frost previously spent two years delighting diners at Michelin Rosette winning, 11 The Quay, Ilfracombe.

The menu is set daily, specialising in local produce, sourcing ingredients for the regular menu options from locally caught fresh fish, West Country meat and cheese.

Frost's homemade fish fingers are said to be a very popular dish with adults and children alike. He also creates interesting and imaginative vegetarian dishes.

The Elmfield boasts a cocktail bar with draught beers, a world wide wine selection and cocktails made to order.

The first Elmfield Supper Club kicks off on Wednesday February 4, at 7pm. To book a place contact Zoë on 0271 863377 or email: zoe@theelmfield.com
