THERE'S entertainment while you shop in Barnstaple this week. Here's what seasonal fun to look out for on the high street.

Thursday, December 6, is Barnstaple Town Council's Christmas Fayre in the pannier market from 6.30pm.

Families can enjoy an encounter with Father Christmas, stalls, music, entertainment, seasonal crafts and gifts. Wowing the crowds will be Jones and Barnard with comedy, acrobatics and juggling taking place at 6.30pm and 7.45pm.

The evening includes the council's Annual Carol Service and a hog roast.

Barnstaple's Concert Band will provide the music for the carol singing, which will be led by the council, along with Barnstaple Male Voice Choir, Barnstaple Jubilee Singers, North Devon All Starz and children from Yeo Valley Primary School.

Everyone is welcome to come and join in with the carols from 7.15pm.

Friday, December 7, Yeo Valley Primary School and Go North Devon Band will be in the High Street during the daytime with Christmas songs and carols.

Saturday, December 8, daytime, will see Barnstaple Concert Band playing in the High Street.

Sunday, December 9 the South Molton Town Band, Barnstaple Youth Marching Band plus the North Devon Hospice Santa Fun Run will be in the High Street.

Thursday, December 13, West Buckland School Orchestra play in the pannier market early evening.

Watch out for the Christmas elves with their festive fun and antics, plus juggler and street entertainer Matt Lemon.
