Luke had been travelling to work in silver Renault Clio early that morning, but never arrived at his place of employment. Later that day, the van was found at the bottom of a bank near Bickleigh Woods, having dropped around 40ft.

The funeral convoy was headed by the hearse and followed by Luke's blue Vauxhall Corsa VXR, driven by a friend of the family.

Funeral arrangements were made by Tiverton funeral director Ryan Squires, with donations in aid of the Alzheimer's Society.

Many of the vehicles which took part in the procession had also been part of a trip from Tiverton to the seafront to Exmouth in memory of Luke held earlier this month.

The Gazette attended the meting point at Halfords car park in Kennedy Way at the invitation of Luke's mother Denise.
