Festive FM to go on air
A NEW radio station with a Christmas twist will hit the airwaves in Barnstaple.
Festive FM will broadcast from Tuesday, December 7, to Monday, January 3 on 106 FM on a Restricted Service Licence (RSL) granted by communications watchdog OFCOM.
The station will act as a continuation of The Voice 106 which was granted an RSL to broadcast between November 9 and December 7. It will play a variety of music and festive favourites.
The station's licence was applied for by the Barnstaple Town Centre Management (TCM) group, though the station will continue to be run by Voice 106 founder Ian Starling. Mr Starling said: "We've had a very successful debut. There will be a few changes to the presenter line up to fulfil the licence requirements from Ofcom."
