Fox tail is a sign of support for political party
A FOX TAIL has been attached to a roadside Conservative Party billboard.
The bushy attachment was spotted this week on a road between Wembworthy and Eggesford, near Chulmleigh.
-

A woman at Eggesford Hunt Kennels said the tail was attached to the sign as a way of showing opposition to the hunting ban.
She added: "The Conservatives are our best chance of getting hunting back to how it used to be. The fox tail was attached to the billboard as a sign of support."
League Against Cruel Sports campaigner Alan Briggs, from Bideford, said: "I think it's disgraceful, in very bad taste. I've not heard of anything like this happening before."
A South Molton motorist who drove past the sign on Monday said: "I am not particularly anti-hunt, but I found this a most distasteful experience. What is the person who put this up trying to say?
"I thought it to be barbaric, and I live locally. What would visitors to our beautiful area think of such a horrific display?"
The poster went up weeks before people go to the polls for the Devon County Council and European elections.
Hunting with dogs was banned in 2005, but it is still lawful to follow a scent and flush out a fox.
David Cameron has promised MPs a free vote on the hunting ban if the Tories win the next general election.
The League Against Cruel Sports, meanwhile, claims that most people support the ban.

“Result!!!! Offending item has apparently been removed...thank goodness! Hopefully something as horrible as this won't happen again! Now I can leave this message thread and let everyone get on with their discussions about politics...thats was never part of any issue I personally had.
Thank you everyone”

“To David Luggar of Barnstable, to answer you question I for one do not eat any animals or fish, nor do I kill any for sport, or use anything tested on animals so I think I'm entitled to speak up for my beliefs which are that no-one has the right to kill another animal for their own pleasure or gain.”

“I have good news for everyone, on both sides of this debate.
The offending article - the Conservative billboard - has now been removed (with permission) and replaced with something that everyone can agree on, and which is relevant to the election currently underway - a UKIP Say No to European Union sign.
Those who oppose a repeal of the hunting ban can now focus on the real issue at hand, namely the £40m a day we're handing over to the unelected EU. Those who support a repeal might like to read the excellent letter in Horse & Hound, pointing out that the Conservatives are targetting hunts nationwide with the impression that they will repeal, whereas all they really intend to do is allow a free vote ¿ a quite different thing (and almost certainly, a quite different result).
Isn't it strange that, when the EU makes 80% of our laws, in the European Elections the main parties seem determined not to talk about this, but instead make daft gestures about the few UK laws they still control?”

“I used to be against hunting, but got involved in it when got a job tending the horses on a hunt yard.
I have never seen a fox being "ripped to shreads" (well not when it was alive)
Everytime i have been hunted the fox has been shot before given to the hounds.
I suggest you speak to a few farmers and see how they feel about hunting, its them that its affects, fox's are vermin, they kill livestock.
You chose to live in the country, support it, don't ruin it.
Hunting has been around for years and has never had a bad effect on the wildlife. Foxes WILL KEEP breeding.
We'll see how the anti will fell when the foxes are raiding thier bins and killing pet rabbits, chickens etc.”

“I like to think that I am fairly open minded to what people beleive in etc BUT this is completely disgusting. I personally hate fox hunting and will never know why people feel the need to watch a poor animal get ripped to bits, let alone think it's a "sport" - do you see this being practised in school PE? The Olympics? NO because it's not a sport. Fox hunting is for people who have no soul and should be ripped up themselves. There must be something missing in their brains, it's sick.”

“The hunt supporters are such funny people. I love the sheer arrogance of continuing to hunt despite the fact that they know it is illegal. I love the confusion of whether democracy is a good thing or not. Posters saying 57% of people support hunting are still all around Devon (not true of course but hey) implying a respect for the democratic process , then once that same process bans hunting they call foul, persecuting. Hilarious. Now they hunt but , fiendishly, cleverly, don' get caught. This is of course what most criminals do, burglars, con -men whatever. The fact they haven't been sent down yet, doesn't mean they are not criminals..”

“Grassy knoll? The book repository? I think someone's jerking your chain. Also Alan Smithee is used in the film industry as a pseudonym by directors who want nothing to do with the film they've been working on.”

“I sincerely hope the Conservatives don't get into power ! Even with the mess our country is in,David Cameron seems to think that repealing the hunting ban is most important of all. The Conservatives moaned that too much time was spent over getting the ban, so how come suddenly he wants to spend more time in getting it repealed ? Labour isn't doing much of a job running our country but I think the Conservatives would make 100 times worse job of it.
Killing animals for fun is a thing of the past, let's leave it there !”
