Frankenstein! promises to give you foot tapping songs and a jolly good fright at the Plough
MONSTER mash up is promised at the Plough on Friday when Cornwall's Miracle Theatre perform Frankenstein!.
Miracle's inventive approach to the horror classic promises to tickle funny bones and have audience members jumping out of their seats.
Frankenstein, of course, was originally a Victorian novel before being turned into a black and white movie starring Boris Karloff and becoming the inspiration for the Seventies musical, The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Miracle, though, will be presenting its Frankenstein! as a musical which is being performed by the Ffitch Repertory Players in 1947. Like past Miracle shows, (The Revenge of Rumpelstiltskin and Aladdin), audience members will enjoy backstage glimpses of the intrepid players as they struggle to create their terrifying vision of the future. It's a world where the rich and famous have paid huge sums to have their bodies preserved at sub-zero temperatures in the Eternalife cryonics facility hoping that, one day, science will be able to reverse the ageing process.

When the power is cut off, Frank must race against time to construct a superhuman of epic proportions that can carry the precious genes of the rich and famous into the future.
His cut and paste creation is a hideous mistake. Feared by its creator, shunned by the world, the monster takes revenge. It craves the one thing it can never have ...
Told with the visual flair of early cinema and the elegant charm of the post-war British musical, this silly, but tender, story of unrequited love, confused monsters and science-gone-mad promises to hit the spot, whether you're a lover of traditional pantomime or looking for an alternative this Christmas.
Expect foot-tapping songs, dazzling dance routines, eye-watering comedy and a jolly good fright.
Frankenstein! is at the Plough Arts Centre, Torrington on Friday, December 21, 7.30pm and Saturday, December 22, 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets: £12 (full), £10 (concession), £8 (Plough supporter).
