THE LADIES of Ilfracombe Golf Club have been busy with a spot of fund raising when they're not out on the course — and have raised hundreds of pounds for good causes.

A cheeky calendar was printed as a limited edition of 200 copies, featuring the ladies and raising £300 for the captain's chosen charity, Amigos.

Dot Stairmand said: "The calendars are, at this moment, hanging in homes around the country and the world."

The club also held a New Year Dinner.

Dot said: "We celebrated as the Domestic Goddesses of the 40s and 50s. There were one or two glamour-pusses."

She said: "Finally we had our Make Me Smile day, and raised £261 for a charity which is very special to us.

"We have also managed a bit of golf in between the rain and snow but I am very proud of my ladies — they are so generous."
