Good care by Bicton, says Ofsted
BICTON College provides a "good standard of care" for its 250 residential students, says a new Ofsted report.
The college, at East Budleigh, provides a variety of courses that are available from entry level to higher education, including agriculture, animal care, countryside management and arboriculture, equine studies and veterinary nursing.
Judgements made in the report relate to the "outcomes for children" set out in the Children Act 2004.
Inspectors said the College was operating at a good standard overall. The 16 to 18 year olds living on-site are cared for in a safe environment, with extra curricular activities.
Inspectors said the college promoted students' well-being, health and welfare and keeps them safe from harm.
Students currently report a high level of satisfaction.
Interim principal Louise Twigg said: "We like to do the best for our students. Bicton provides a caring environment and is a fabulous place to live and study. As a parent I would want to know that the standard of residential care is second to none. This bodes well for our full Ofsted inspection report."
