Guild plants Jubilee tree
THE Barnstaple Longbridge branch of the Townswomen's Guild marked the Diamond Jubilee by planting a copper beech tree on Castle Green last Wednesday.
The guild's national chairman, Pauline Myers, travelled from the Midlands for the ceremonial planting of the tree and 26 women attended in total, including several from the Taw Townswomen's Guild.
