February half term is almost upon us, and despite the terrible weather, there's plenty happening in and around Bideford to keep the youngsters amused.

Kids of all ages can swap the classroom for a fun-filled day out at The Big Sheep near Bideford. The world famous family attraction is opening especially for the half-term from Saturday 16th to Sunday 24th February.  Prices are as follows: adults: £11.95, children: £11.95, children under 3ft tall: £5, babies under 12 months: FREE

The Yarner Trust at Welcombe is offering a series of exciting and original workshops for all the family during half term.  Whether it's making paper, creating a 3D character or building a bird from recycled materials, the Yarner Trust has something for all.  The workshops are suitable for children 8 - 14. However, children between 5 and 8 can attend if they have a parent or carer working one-to-one with them. Workshops run from 10am to 1pm and cost £5 per child and £3 per adult. Atlantis Adventure Park at Atlantic Village near Bideford is hosting a party on Friday, February 22 in support of local charity - Care for Kids North Devon - to include indoor play, rides and a raffle  Tickets cost £4 per child (adults are free), but they must be pre-booked. Ever fancied learning how to juggle? Now's your chance as the circus is in town next week, or more precisely, in TorringtonCircus Berzercus will be performing at the Plough Theatre on Wednesday 20, at 5.30pm. Hilarity for all the family is guaranteed with juggling, music, hilarious misunderstandings combined with brilliant circus skills and audience participation.

But for anyone who wants to have a go themselves, there is a Family Circus Skills Workshop from 2.00pm to 4.30pm for all ages and abilities on the same day as the performance. 

Skills include juggling, plate spinning, balancing, scarf/poi, Wire walking, diablo, club swinging, ribbon dancing and basic acrobatics/human pyramids. Families welcome. The Plough Play Story Half-Term Special on Friday 22, February from 10.30am – 11.30am is a drama starter workshop for 3-5 year olds with Richard Wolfenden-Brown who will help children explore a fairy story then bring it to life with characters and costume in the theatre. Treasure Trails are for all the family and are a fun way of discovering your local town. Bideford's Murder Mystery Walking Trail is 1½ miles long and takes approximately 2 hours. The Trail can be purchased as a booklet from the Bideford Tourist Information Centre in The Burton Art Gallery, which is located at the start of the trail. There is car parking nearby.
