Hannah, who competed in a field of 18, said: "After the first leg I was in contention with the leaders but in the swim I was pulled back by another athlete.
"The low tide made the exit from the water difficult, with sandbanks making the water deep, then shallow and deep again. After the transition to the last run the gap was too big for me to catch up."
Despite problems with a toe injury in the build-up, Hannah was happy with her performance.
As a first year in the youth B category, she can have another go at the girls' 15 to 16 age group next year.
"I now know what I could realistically achieve if I went into a competition fully fit," she said.
"More importantly it was a great opportunity for me to take part in an event such as this.
"Dubai is an amazing place and I have made friends with athletes from all over the world.
"I even got to chat with the 2012 Olympic modern pentathlon champion David Svoboda who was coaching the Czech squad."
Hannah thanked her coaches Mark Brace and Sonia Cox and all those who helped fund the trip.
