THERE were three firsts in the first division of the North Devon Summer League this week.

Hartland RBL gained their first win of the season, while Magnets and Penny Blacks both suffered their first defeats.

Geoff Lingard, with two black-ball wins, gave Hartland a good start to their 4-2 victory over Spurs. The next four frames were shared. Mike Bray took both of Spurs' frames.

A brace each from Lee Halling and Gary Tubbs earned Pot Black a 4-2 win over Magnets. Penny Blacks went down by the same score at Pool Players.

Liberal Aces had dropped just three frames all season in the second division, but crashed 5-1 at Super Cues. Martin Philpotts and Dean Whitehead picked up a double each for Cues.

Having lost 4-2 to Super Cues last week, during which Sheridan Tetley knocked in a break of 55 to top the rankings, TVSSC bounced back to beat Liberal Super Pussys 4-2. Tetley and Clifford Brown took a pair each.

Seasiders followed up their first win with a 5-1 victory at Beach Boys, including a brace each from Brian Draper and Norman Harris.
