HONOURS were even between Bratton Fleming and Chittlehampton in the Journal League Senior Division on Tuesday night.

Promotion remains a possibility for both sides after their hard-fought 1-1 draw.

Ben Jerrett gave Chittle the lead but they came under a barrage of second-half pressure as Liam Hawkins finally grabbed the equaliser.

At the opposite end of the table, Shamwickshire Rovers are still looking nervously over their shoulders after a 1-0 defeat to South Molton.

Simon Loosemore's superb first-half free-kick gave the Images their third win in four games.

On Saturday the title race took another twist when Dolton stunned Braunton 5-2 as 16-year-olds Billy Tubb and George Folland both struck twice.

They were 2-0 up inside the first five minutes and Folland's 35-yarder made it 3-1 before Simon Ward helped complete a league double over the leaders.

Despite a penalty from Matt Hunt and a late consolation from Martin McDonald, it was a bad day at the office for Braunton.

Bratton had to settle for four points from a hectic weekend.

Marcus Mahoney fired a hat-trick in a sparkling team display against Landkey Town.

Damian Green, Jamie Cameron, Liam Hawkins and Steve Kingdon (two) completed a 8-1 success after Jamie Hutton pulled one back.

But they could only draw at Kilkhampton on Sunday after two own goals and Dave Youldon's header put the Cornishmen 3-2 up.

Nick Muge, Joe Toop and a debut goal from Richard Elston earned Bratton a point after home player Wayne Jeffery was sent off for a late challenge.

An early strike from Danny Smith saw Kilk gain a 1-0 win over North Molton.

The Stags drew a blank too against Chittlehampton where Dale Sawyer regained his footing to set up Ciaron Lishman for the opening goal.

Lishman benefited from a quickly-taken throw and he returned the favour, crossing for Sawyer to head the second.

A brilliant strike from Greg Mitchell got Shebbear United off to a flying start against Shamwickshire, and he went on to complete a hat-trick. Martin Davey and a free-kick from Shaun Sluggett rounded off a comprehensive 5-0 win.

United were glad to take a point at Pilton Academicals though, as James Vanstone's double hauled them back from 2-0 down. Luke Holland headed in a corner from Quyen Tran, and Tom Nash struck from the edge of the area in the first 10 minutes.

Combe Martin celebrated their second win of the season as Kieran Saunders scored twice to sink Northam Lions.

Will Lovett and Saunders put the hosts 2-0 up and they battled for an excellent result after Tom Hook saved Rob Crump's penalty.

Saunders converted his own spot-kick and despite goals from Brian Levien and Carl Jenkins, the Lions missed out 3-2.

They had better luck at Bude Town where Levien, Crump and player-boss Cosmo Ayres wrapped up a 3-0 win.

Weary legs told for Barnstaple AAC after they took the lead at South Molton through Steve Isaac.

The Ammies, featuring just two players under the age of 30, never recovered after Simon Loosemore levelled from the penalty spot.

Loosemore struck again, direct from a corner, and Ryan Isaac settled it with 10 minutes to go.
