Firemen from Holsworthy fire station put out a chimney fire at a farm in Clawton, near Holsworthy, yesterday afternoon.

The crew was called out after the owners of the farm called 999 at 3.20pm yesterday to report the fire, which had started in the chimney of a woodburner.

The crew set about putting out the fire using chimney equipment, a thermal imaging camera, a short extension ladder and a low pressure hose reel.

After making steady progress bringing the fire under control the crew used a 13.5 metre ladder to get above the fire and finally extinguished the fire by dousing it from above.
