HOLSWORTHY Police Station will be opening their doors for a free security marking event this month.

The town's neighbourhood police team have organised the sessions to help track down owners if their items are lost or stolen.

Officers will security mark any items people bring in by UV marking or engraving. Leather items such as horse tack can be stamped.

PCSO for Holsworthy, Emma Tomkies, said the team will also show people how to register items. She said: "We will be showing people how to register items on www.immobilise.com. This means if a stolen or lost item is recovered we know where the owner is and how to contact them. We constantly mark items for members of the public if they request. With it being just after Christmas, we are aware lots of people will have received presents of high value. It is an ideal time to get them security marked so they will be unique and identifiable."
