SAINSBURY'S has teamed up with Barnstaple-based personal trainer Marc Kent to raise money for North Devon Hospice.

The hospice is the Barnstaple store's new charity of the year.

Sainsbury's has invited Marc into the store on Saturday from 11am to 5pm to carry out a big fundraising exercise session with members of his fitness classes.

And customers are being invited to join in the fun and make donations on the day.

Representatives from North Devon Hospice will also be there.

Those sponsoring the team will be entered into a prize draw to win a 21-day fat loss challenge with Marc.

Marc is delighted to be able to help raise funds for the cause.

He was keen to support North Devon Hospice after seeing the care they gave his grandfather.

Store manager Stuart Kinghorn said he hoped the event would help raise the profile of their new partnership with the charity.

He said: "Our colleagues chose North Devon Hospice because their aims and objectives really touched the hearts of many of our colleagues and customers.

"We hope that this fundraiser will show our Barnstaple customers that we're passionate about giving help and support, through raising awareness and fundraising, for North Devon Hospice throughout our year's partnership."

Last year Sainsbury's stores and their customers helped more than 800 charities and organisations across the UK through fundraising and volunteering, giving more than £1.3million to local communities.

“Seems like a natural progression to me, having worked for Sainsbury myself.”
